There is also a 50/50 raffle so bring some extra dollars, and one lucky customer wins free breakfast the next month!

Wednesday Work Crew

The Wednesday Work Crew is one of the oldest groups in Fox Run.  They have been meeting every Wednesday morning at 9:am, rain or shine, and usually quit around noon. The Crew will also meet other times when working with contractors, service technicians, or other Committees.

A report is given to the HOA Board each meeting as to the number of hours the Volunteers worked that month and at the annual meeting a report as to the total hours worked for the year.  Included on that report are the projects, repairs, etc.  completed by the Work Crew.

Future projects are summarized with a preliminary spending amount, so the Board knows what to expect in cost.  The Board has final approval where monies are given to a project or repair. Approval of the Finance committee is also needed.
Other projects, repairs, that do not require monies from the Board are worked on without Board approval, using tools, and materials on hand following all guidelines of the rules and regulations set forth by the HOA.
Our main function is to find and fix things around the park.  Here are some things we do.

Landscaping public areas, Mulching. Repair sprinklers and plumbing problems. Minor electrical. Light bulbs timer boxes re- setting breakers, smoke alarms, emergency lighting. Keeping up with governmental inspections, and supplying what is needed.

Painting HOA properties and buildings. Keeping HOA sheds clean, and tools in working condition. Preparation for a hurricane, and emergency repairs.

Repairing or replacing damaged boards along the Boardwalk. Cutting in Boardwalk railing for new mooring spots. Persevering the Boardwalk with Power washing/Stain/paint and repairs to the marina area and buildings. Cutting back encroaching vegetation along canal.

Power washing HOA vinyl fencing, Clubhouse roof, buildings, sidewalks, and structures, pool areas. Cleaning drainage piping. Weed whacking along the Canal and Lighthouse Island, and Marina Park and swale behind Marina shed. Maintaining HOA barge and trailer Licensing and inspections.

Working with the Social Committee to set up activities such as dances, shows, parties and Yearly Clubhouse sale week, (See Social Committee for details)

Taking out Clubhouse garbage pails on Wednesday for pickup Thursday and returning them back after pickup. Bringing debris to the Dump. Power blowing off Boardwalk. Cleaning gutters. Storing firewood for Marina Park. Blowing off and cleaning Picnic tables and chairs. Cleaning Clubhouse HVAC venting. Remove and replace everything from the Clubhouse floors for annual floor waxing in February.

This description from Roy F. is long, and although it was intended it to be a short description like the rest of the entries here, it was left mostly as submitted because the work done by the Work Crew cannot be underappreciated! The monetary savings they provide is a wonderful benefit, but the sense of community and camaraderie in doing a shared task, and a common goal shared by the participants is even better.  Don’t think you can’t help.  Come for an hour, just show up.

Anyone and everyone is welcome. We have a job for everybody.

Wii Bowling

No smelly rented shoes. No heavy balls. All the fun of bowling, but on a TV screen. Every Thursday at 10am the Wii gaming consoles come out, and everybody BOWLS! There is a signup sheet in the clubhouse, but walk-ins are welcome!
